  • 2013

    August - Qsustain is High Speed

    Q Sustain was created and contracts awarded immediately with Network Rail supporting Project and Engineering Management combined with Sustainability and Low carbon solutions.

    December - Another contract awarded

    Awarded contract with Cathedral Group (U&I) for supporting trackside development and all interfaces with Network Rail consulting upon Asset Protection Agreements

    January - Supporting Education

    Q Sustain supporting Manchester University with guest lecturing for MSc in Renewable Energy and Clean Technology (REaCT)

    March - Awarded Project Director

    Awarded Project Director role supporting Stoke City Council for the feasibility of HS2 route via Stoke Station.

    July - Expertise in Glare Analysis

    Awarded Glare Consultancy contract with Barratt Development London followed by various other schemes after creation of Glare Analysis process incorporated into Network Rail signal sighting.

    March - Railway Consultancy

    Q Sustain supporting Willmott Dixon and Buckingham Group for the development of Brentford FC and all railway interfaces

    A year of recognition

    April - Network Rail supported by Q Sustain win Sustainability Excellence Award at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Awards.

    May - Q Sustain finalist in National Environment & Energy Awards for work with Network Rail in Sustainability and Low carbon Solutions.

    June - Q Sustain receive award from Network Rail (Aspire Awards) for work at New Street Station in Sustainability.

    November - Q Sustain receive finalist in Edie Awards for Leadership in Sustainability

    November - Birmingham New Street Completion

    Completion of Network Rail’s first station district heating system managed by Q Sustain goes live

    May - Highly Commended Award

    Q Sustain receive Highly Commended Award in Sustainability Legacy at the West Midlands Constructing Excellence Awards.

    Qsustain award in Sustainability (Highly Commended) at Rail Partnership Awards

    New Projects Awarded

    2019 - Awarded carbon neutral studies and energy efficiency across Virgin
    Train stations

    2019 - help implement significant enhancement to the ventilation system at
    New Street Station to improve air quality

    2019 - awarded first contract to support the client team with a first of its
    kind 'Smart' student development of over 500 bed accommodation.

  • 2020

    Partnering with Avanti West Coast in conducting Energy Efficiency Feasibility Studies

    Study at 12 stations operated by Avanti West Coast were undertaken and energy efficiency improvements along with renewable technologies were recommended.

  • 2021

    Carbon Neutral Station Project

    High-level feasibility studies issued and approved by Network Rail for the first of its kind carbon neutral station at Stoke-On-Trent train station

    Partnering with Northern Rail in conducting Carbon Neutral Feasibility Studies

    - Feasibility studies are being Traction Maintenance Depots and Stations.

    - Detailed design progressed for the first of its kind Solar Meadow Project with Avanti West Coast.
