Q Sustain have been appointed for another industry first project to provided M+E Engineering Assurance for the UK’s first entirely smart building – a 600 bed student accommodation in Cornwall.
Smart technology will be integrated into every feature of the accommodation, including entry into the building / rooms, control of lifts, windows, blinds, heating, cooling and allows occupants to book meeting / leisure / catering spaces and car parking too.
From a building management perspective, the landlord is able to better monitor energy consumption, security (including CCTV and fire), building occupancy and other BMS and plant systems.
This exciting project is pioneering a new way we use and manage buildings – with broad scope to utilise this technology across all buildings types and the potential to lower the building energy consumption too.
